This latest issue of Wizard is #200, and in it they run a feature about the best 200 comics since Wizard's inception in 1991. Here's an excerpt:

As Nate says:

1. Yes, this is a big deal
2. Yes, the credits are backwards
3. Yes, I did cover up some Michael Turner artwork for you, you're welcome.

So, yeah. According to Wizard, we are better than Paul Pope, better than Brubaker. Better than Busiek and better than Meltzer.

Now I bet you feel bad about not buying it.

NEWS FOR 2KNATE:

Nice to see you, lads and ladies. Here's some info on Benito and Nate for the current year, which you call 2008, but which I call 200Nate, or 2kNate for short.

The reason for this term of endearment is that I fully believe that this is the year in which young Nate Bellegarde will explode like a supernova and blossom like Mayim Bialik.

I can't reveal to you the full line-up of Nate-related thrills and Nate-related chills just yet, but here's a taste of what's already been announced for 2kNate (click images to embiggen):

INVINCIBLE PRESENTS: ATOM EVE #2 (of 2)
story BENITO CERENO
art NATE BELLEGARDE
cover CORY WALKER
editor ROBERT KIRKMAN

From the pages of INVINCIBLE! You know her, you love her - it's the girl after Invincible's heart: ATOM EVE! Find out how she got her powers and what shaped her into the woman she is today. ROBERT KIRKMAN presents a tale of tragedy and triumph that will have lasting effects on the INVINCIBLE series.

BRIT #7
story BRUCE BROWN
art NATE BELLEGARDE & ANDY KUHN
cover RYAN OTTLEY & KELSEY SHANNON

GUEST-STARRING INVINCIBLE!
It's "Invulnerable" versus "Invincible" in a knockdown, drag-out brawl to end them all! Two heroes -- one old enough for social security, one not old enough to drink -- forced against each other. It's a story of strip clubs, giant robots and the terror from a transdimension!

BRIT #8
story BRUCE BROWN

Intergalactic drug smugglers have been profiting a great deal by doing business on Earth. Brit's sister has been on the case for some time ñ but now, with a little help from her brother, she'll finally shut them down ñ or instigate and all-out INVASION!

BRIT! INVINCIBLE! DONALD! WOLF-MAN! TECH JACKET! The team up of the century! United against the legions of Other-Earth! Will even the combined might of the heroes of the Invincible Universe be enough to defeat the awesome might of The Emperor?!

And that's not even the first half of 2kNate! Maybe if I ask him nicely, Nate will let me do some comics with him this year, too.

Anyway, for those of you who missed out on what Nate and I were up to in 2007, we had a brand new Hector Plasm story (Palamon's Conundrum) in the excellent Popgun Anthology, still available in stores, and, of course, the first issue of Invincible Presents: Atom Eve hit just before Christmas.

I also had a short story in The Tick's 20th Anniversary special with on art. That's still available somewhere, I would think.

Nate also started and then quit like a baby on
a daily sketchblog.

I think that's the major high notes. So keep an eye out for all that fresh new Nate-related content, and I'll just sit here and cry.

          Yours in Christ,
          Benito J. Cereno III

P.S. Just to show you I did something too, you can now pre-order the new second volume of the print edition of Dr. McNinja with a brand new story written by me within."
